Doctors
Dr. Tim Bengtson has been in practice in Illinois for the past 29 years. After completing his undergraduate education in Biology at the University of Colorado he went on to graduate from the University of Missouri School of Optometry in 1986. He began practice in Salem, Illinois that same year.
In 1989 Dr. Bengtson moved to Macomb purchasing Dr. Henderson's practice located on the Macomb Square and opened Professional Eyecare Center. In May of 2000 Professional Eyecare Center moved to its current location on East Jackson. Dr. Bengtson offers a full range of services including comprehensive vision examinations, diagnosis and treatment of eye disease, pre and post-operative surgical care for LASIK and cataract surgery patients, contact lens fitting, and low vision services. His professional association memberships include the American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, the West Central Optometric Society (past President), Research to Prevent Blindness, and the Illinois Society to Prevent Blindness. Dr. Bengtson is an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Missouri, St. Louis school of Optometry. Dr. Bengtson is board certified by the American Board of Optometry.
Originally from Minnesota, Dr. Bengtson has made Macomb his home with his wife Kimberly and their two children, Blake and Hannah. Outside of the office Dr. Bengtson enjoys boating, golf, and turkey hunting.
Dr. Brigette Colley is a 2013 graduate of the University of Missouri St. Louis College of Optometry. Prior to completing her optometric education, Dr. Colley was a 2005 graduate of Macomb Sr. High School and earned a BA in Biology from Truman State University in 2009.
Dr. Colley offers a full range of services including comprehensive vision examinations, diagnosis and treatment of eye disease, pre and post-operative surgical care for LASIK and cataract surgery patients, contact lens fitting, and vision therapy. Her professional association memberships include the American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, and the West Central Optometric Society.
Dr. Colley and her husband are both Macomb natives. They have three children. In addition to her busy family life, Dr. Colley enjoys reading and exercising.
Dr. Hannah Bengtson is a native of Macomb and graduated from Macomb High School in 2010. She attended Augustana College in Rock Island and graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Religion. In May of 2018 she graduated from University of Missouri St Louis College of Optometry with her Doctor of Optometry.
Throughout her schooling, Dr. Hannah worked in several clinical settings including rotations in pediatrics, contact lenses, disease, private practice, pre and post operative care, and Veteran Affairs. Her clinical interests include treating ocular disease and providing eye care for the entire family. Dr. Hannah offers a full range of services including comprehensive vision examinations, diagnosis and treatment of eye disease, pre and post-operative surgical care for LASIK and cataract surgery patients, contact lens fitting, and low vision services. Her professional association memberships include the American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, and the West Central Optometric Society.
In her spare time, Hannah enjoys riding and showing horses, reading, and spending time with her dog Winston.
Dr. Brooke Tobias graduated from Southeastern High School in Augusta, IL in 2011. She completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Western Illinois University in 2015. After taking a gap year, she enrolled at Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, IN and obtained her Doctorate in Optometry in 2021. Dr. Tobias was selected for a one-year residency position at Indianapolis Eye Care Center in Indianapolis, IN where she worked in low vision and binocular vision specialty clinics.
Dr. Tobias offers a full range of services including comprehensive vision examinations, diagnosis and treatment of eye disease, pre and post-operative care for LASIK and cataract surgery, contact lens fitting, and low vision services. Her professional association memberships include the American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, and the West Central Optometric Society.
In her free time, Dr. Tobias enjoys caring for her horse, Scout, as well as spending time reading and making crafts.
